The Ultimate Mother's Day Gift Guide

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, don’t leave it until the very last second to grab that special something for the most important woman in your life (or at least a close second..)

Flowers are always a great gift but it’s good to show that little extra thought and spend some time choosing something to really show you care and appreciate all your mum does for you!

I’ve always been a big fan of The White Company and aside from the fact it’s one of the best smelling shops around, it is the perfect place to shop for the women in your life.  In-store and online they have a plethora of options to please even the hardest to buy for of mums and here's a few of my top picks guaranteed to put a smile on their face:

The Thoughtful Gift

The White Company are renowned for their amazing candles and home fragrances and there isn't a mother out there that wouldn't love to receive one of their home scenting gift sets.  The Lime & Bay scent is fresh and perfect for the Spring months with a fusion of mandarin, pink grapefruit, bergamot, orange, lime and lemon.

The beauty of this gift is the trio of products can be spread across the house and from bathroom to lounge create a wonderfully vibrant and homely scent.

Priced at £60.00, the Lime & Bay Home Scenting Gift Set is available online here and in-store.

For The Mum That Needs A Pamper

Every mum needs a break from time to time and what better way to treat her this Mother's Day than with the ultimate spa gift set, perfect for those pamper nights in.  The Spa Restore Gift Set includes a muscle soothing luxury bath soak, super-hydrating moisturising gel and luxurious spa candle; designed to soothe the body and relax the mind.

The combination of neroli (one of my all time faves at the moment) and geranium gives a luxurious spa-like feel and is ideal for those days you need to put your feet up and unwind.  The Spa collection combines essential oils and natural bases for all their products which is that much better for the body.

Originally priced at £65.00 and now reduced to £30.00, the Spa Restore Gift Set can be found online here and in-store.

A Scent To Please

Perfumes are always a special gift and the perfect unexpected treat on Mother's Day.

The White Company Night Eau De Toilette combines pomegranate, cassis and patchouli to create a subtle yet opulent scent, ideal for those special occasions.

Priced at £70.00, the Night Eau De Toilette can be found online here or in-store.

Something A Little Special:

Any gift received from a loved one is no doubt going to be viewed as special, but a gift with a more personal touch is always that bit more memorable and significant.  A photo encapsulating a treasured moment in time to evoke memories of days gone by will be well received and what better way to present the photo than within a stunning photo frame.

This Mother Of Pearl Photo Frame is the ideal size for a bed side table or cabinet and is made of natural mother of pearl with a silver-plated border with the added benefit of being 'tarnish-proof', so it never needs cleaning!

Priced at £24.00, the Mother Of Pearl Photo Frame can be found online here or in-store.

Shirts For The Man On The Move - Introducing Tech Prep by GANT

Shirts For The Man On The Move - Introducing Tech Prep by GANT

With Spring finally arriving and the temperatures getting a tad warmer, it's that time of year to review the wardrobe and reassess those daily essentials.  A staple of any gentleman's wardrobe is the classic Oxford shirt, equally at home in the board room as it is on a night out with the lads and GANT's newest launch certainly ticks both boxes.

GANT launched the Tech Prep range in early February, with a focus on maintaining comfort whilst being active.  With Swedish heritage, it is no surprise that GANT have a reputation for innovation; the Tech Prep range incorporates innovative fabrics that are breathable and wick sweat to help support an active lifestyle.

As someone that is often rushing around London from meeting to meeting and on and off hot, sweaty tubes and buses, I thought I would give their newest addition a test run.

For me, the gym is a big part of my daily routine and there is nothing worse than putting on a shirt straight after a tough session, rushing into Central, to find the inevitable has happened.  The Tech Prep fabrics are lightweight and designed to keep you cool, perfect for post-workout and as we approach those warmer (slightly..) months.

The fabric is made from the innovative microfiberpolyester, designed to move sweat away from the body to the fabric surface, where it evaporates and a result are also quick drying - another huge plus for those that live life in the fast lane and often leave their washing until the very last minute on Sunday evening!

The Tech Prep range is available online but I am still a firm believer in the 'in-store' experience.  GANT have recently opened a new Flagship, 184-186 Regent St and it's worthwhile getting some expert advice when choosing the right fit and style, whether it be a classic solid colour or more adventurous check or stripe.

The shirts are slim fitted and the perfect design for the modern man; equally stylish untucked or tucked in for a smarter look.  I went for a size small and paired with a blazer (also from GANT) it's the perfect medium between smart and casual.

As a big lover of blue (!) my personal favourites are the Indigo Chambray and the Dobby Oxford.

A typical day for me starts with meetings and ends with an evening event or dinner, so my outfit needs to be flexible and well balanced.  The Tech Prep's versatility means it's the ideal all rounder for a day away from the home office, keeping me cool and comfortable throughout.

The Tech Prep collection launched in stores in early February with over 20 styles and can be found online here.

How do you guys like to style your shirts?

What are you favourite pieces from the collection?

This post was created in collaboration with GANT but all styling and thoughts are my own.
